5 Things You Can Do Right Now to Raise Your Energy

Original post here

1) Root & Sacral Energy Flow Visualization
• Sit or lie comfortably.
• Visualize your sacral centre — feel energy gathering there, sourced from the earth beneath you, coursing from root to sacrum.
• Expand the energy out into your body with your in-breath, a bit more each time, and gather it back in your sacral with your out-breath.
• Continue until your body is full, approx 5 min.

2) Revitalizing Breath
Breath can soothe or invigorate. For serious inquiries, see a breathwork facilitator. For dabbling, ask Google.
Surya (sun) Bhedana (piercing) Pranayama:
• Close your left nostril.
• Breathe in through your right nostril for a count of 4, and out for a count of 6.
• Continue for 1 - 3 min.

3) Reveal Yourself
Inevitably, there's something you're holding back — from yourself or others.
• Gather courage.
• Face an interpersonal thing you've been avoiding.
• Have whatever conversation ensues.
(It's 100× more effective to reveal yourself to another human, but if you can only manage to journal your personal reveal, that's okay too. Facing something you've been avoiding always frees up energy.)

4) Catharsis
This one's simple and effective for clearing blocked energy and depression:
Have a very physical tantrum — flail, tremble, thrash, kick, scream, punch, and generally lose your sh*t. Do this safely — on a bed, say. Strangling towels is effective too, and screaming into a pillow or your fist is good if noise is a concern.

A "Tiny Rebellion" is also invigorating:
Do an innocent no-no, the sillier the better. Be fully on board with doing this "bad" thing, and enjoy it. An innocuous thing that a parental figure wouldn't want you to do is great for a little thrill! Run around the house naked, use the whole pot of moisturizer on your face, whatever. The goal here is to unburden yourself of needless restrictions — because those restrictions take energy.

5) Intuitive Walk
Put your phone in a drawer and go for a long walk. Breathe. Notice your body and your surroundings. Trust your internal compass and go where your feet take you.
