How to Avoid Spiritual Bullsh*t
If the big bang theory is true, everything in the universe began in an area the size of a pinhead.
And if present day physics is accurate, anything that’s ever been in physical contact remains connected after separation, even across great distances.
In that way – the cosmic entanglement of all things – we are One.
A reasonable catch-all for avoiding spiritual bullsh*t is any One-itis beyond that – One Truth, Teaching, Soulmate, Path…if there is only ONE way to do/be/speak/believe/etc., I’m likely to head the other direction.
A good teacher wants you to explore many ways, to find the best fit.

This brings me to “Love and Light”, which, without embracing shadows, is utterly false and dangerously pretentious. It’s an assault on humanity, being blinded by unending light — gagged and bound by well-intended, super oppressive “love”. It ignores real suffering in the world.
I want you to know that your full range of experience is allowed, and you’re lovable through all of it. Light, dark, love, hate, sadness, joy, rage, fear, shame, pride – all of it.
Ignoring darkness only makes it bigger. If you’re here to do The Work, you’re going to have to go in there and have a look around – and a strictly Love & Lighter is terrible company for that trip:
They give bad, anxious advice because they just want everything to feel better, and they bail or become a liability when sh*t gets hard – no, you need someone who can face hard truth with you, who can stand with you even when things aren’t “okay”.

Finally, to avoid spiritual bullsh*t, follow the money.
How fast is it leaving your account? Are you paying for things that benefit you directly? Must you pay increasingly to attain mysterious levels of achievement?
Are you asked to dedicate unreasonable or unhealthy amounts of time/energy/money to the pursuit of spiritual whatever-it-is?
Yes, programs cost money and there’s an exchange for learning and participation. But my most trusted teachers charge increasingly less the deeper you go, because the main goal here is sharing the Work, being of service, and spreading the love.
