How to Trust Other People
“How will I ever be able to trust anyone again?”
I have an answer in three parts: by learning yourself, by remembering yourself, and by honouring yourself.
Not once or twice, but as an initial deep dive and then as a regular practice.
As is often the case, the best ways I know how to do this are through meditation and shadow work.
Meditation quiets your mind. It helps create distance between you – your SELF – and your thoughts, feelings, emotions. It slows down your interpretations of the world, literally creating more time and mental space for you to process events and feelings as they arise.
Shadow work helps us unearth and release deeply held fears and beliefs about the world, other people, and ourselves. Doing this Work clears yet more space, freeing your mind to see more clearly and enjoy genuine interactions with your SELF and those around you.
If you’re willing to do the work, you will come to trust yourself, discern who is untrustworthy, and attract more trusted (and trusting) people into your life.
