TAO OF SELF

Resistance

Resistance takes many forms -- presenting as effectively anything that prevents you from enthusiastically (or at least insistently) accomplishing X, Y or Z.

Exhaustion, check.
Illness, check.
Lack of enthusiasm, check.
Self-doubt, check.
(Being affected by) people doubting you, check check.

When it comes to relationship and connection, the resistance we throw up is astoundingly creative, and a massive zone for spiritual bypassing.

A great example of this is, ironically, EMPATHY.

Begin small rant:

We've gotten so dang empathetic (identifying with the feelings of others) that many just can't even any more -- and what a noble subconscious excuse that is to not need to feel or express one's own feelings. Feeling "too much", to the extent that we avoid connection to ourselves, and interactions with others. It's the ultimate resistance to life. Don't fall for it.

/end rant.

When you experience resistance, as we all do all the time, that isn't necessarily a bad thing. It isn't necessarily a good thing either. It might well be rooted in fact and good sense.

The point is to examine it, get to know it so you can identify it when it arises, and explore new ways of existing.

What are you resisting, and what does that look like in your mind and body?
